# Coal or Coin > A light, blameless naughty-or-nice ledger for your own year, in the spirit of an old Alpine December tale. Write 1 to 6 small deeds of your own - kind or naughty, small, medium or big, and for a naughty deed whether it has been made good. The page counts coins and coal, draws them in a wooden clog beside an open ledger and stamps a fixed verdict: a gold coin, an orange and nuts, or a lump of coal. One metered run writes a fair line per deed, a way to make good each deed that still carries coal, what went well and the deed to mend first. A naughty deed earns 1, 2 or 3 coal the same way; made good clears its coal, partly made good keeps half of it, rounded up. Verdict, checked in order, first match wins: 1. A gold coin - no coal left. 2. A lump of coal - more coal than coins. 3. An orange and nuts - otherwise, including coins and coal level. The deed to mend first carries the most coal (ties: the earliest). What went well is the biggest kind deed (ties: the earliest). ## The metered run (task "weigh") Input strings: task, ledger (the page's lines). Reply: one JSON object with the verdict copied from the page, a headline, deeds (1 per deed in ledger order: deed number, status copied from the page, a ledger line, and a way to make good for deeds still carrying coal), went_well, mend_first (deed and step) and a closing. The page re-checks the reply against its own count. ## Sources - Built on the SkillSafe skill @refoundai/post-mortems-retrospectives: https://skillsafe.ai/skill/@refoundai/post-mortems-retrospectives For fun.
